The Beginnings of Mason's Nursery

We have started on Mason's nursery!  I am so excited and really into making it the perfect room for him.  Ryan is pretty much agreeing with all my ideas. (He's such a good husband)

I decided to go with yellow for the wall color, and I have a reason for that. Anybody who knows me, knows that yellow is my favorite color.

Background story...Right before my mom passed away she bought me a yellow Easter dress.  She never got to see me in it, and that dress is very special to me.  Of course, we cannot put Mason in a yellow dress, so his nursery is yellow in honor of my mama!  I am hoping that I will be able to use her rocking chair in the room as well.  I have my fingers crossed that it is in good condition.  I am planning to have my dad bring it down on his next visit to the beach.

So yellow it is...and it is pretty BRIGHT!  I hope he doesn't have any trouble sleeping in his room.  The nursery will probably take some time as I am VERY picky, but so far we have a crib (which I put together by myself...go me!)  and his monogram above the crib, which I am thrilled about.  It turned out exactly how I wanted it.

More to come on the nursery later!

July 25th Dr. Appointment

Yesterday, we had our 25th week appointment.  Everything looked/sounded great.  They measured my belly for the lst time and it wasn't too big! :)  Mason's heartbeat was also nice and strong.  My next appointment will be on August 23rd.  I will be back at work by then, so I have scheduled an afternoon appointment.  On this next visit I will take my glucose test to check for Gestational Diabetes.

Also, I will get a dose of RhoGAM because I am Rh negative.  This means that my blood type is negative and Ryan's is positive. If  the baby's is positive and my blood mixes with his, my body will attack his red blood cells and could cause problems.  The shot of RhoGAM prevents this from happening.

If the baby indeed has a positive blood type, I will get a second dose after birth to help with any future pregnancies.

Mason Ryan Cameron

Ryan and I agreed a while back that if it was a girl, I would name her and if it was a boy, he would name him.

So...the baby's name will be MASON RYAN CAMERON.  I think Ryan did an excellent job. :)
Mason at 21 weeks!

It's A Boy!

On June 22, Ryan and I found out that we were having a baby boy!  We planned a "Baby Reveal" party for our close family and friends on June 25.  It was nice having this wonderful secret to ourselves just for a few days, but honestly I don't think I could have kept the secret any longer than that. :)

Ryan and I made little bags for the grandma, grandpas, and great-grandmas to open at the baby reveal.    Four of the bags contained pieces of paper with big question marks on them and one, of course, revealed that it was a BOY!  It was a great day, and the start to many special memories!
