School is out for summer (for my students)! However, I will be beginning classes at CCU this week. I am trying to get in as many classes as I can before Baby Cameron arrives. I will be taking two classes (human resources/personnel & research) in Summer I and one class (school & community relations) in Summer II. It’s not the ideal summer vacation, but it gets me closer to my master’s degree. Baby Cameron is going to be one smart kid; after all he/she is getting the opportunity to attend graduate classes at such a young age. It can’t hurt, right?

Some of my students surprised me with a baby shower this past week! My 7
th block English class is (was…they are 8
th graders now) a group of very bright girls with BIG personalities.
Ever since the beginning of the school year, all I have heard from them is, “Mrs. Cameron, when are you going to have a baby?”
Finally, they got their way and are super excited!
They did an excellent job of planning and surprising me with an afternoon of fun.
They prepared blue & pink cupcakes, decorated the classroom, bought gifts, created an invitation, and organized baby games.
As far as I am concerned, they had everything that a girl could ask for at a baby shower

It was such a special experience and I am grateful for the girls’ thoughtfulness! I am blessed to have been their teacher!
My teacher’s assistant (and student), Lawson, presented me with a beautiful stuffed bear for the baby as well as an original children’s book written by her! What a special gift…I am excited about reading her story to the baby!
My good friend, Laura passed through town to catch a flight to D.C. for a weekend of fun. We had the opportunity to go to dinner, and she got to see the Cameron Baby bump.
The countdown has begun! We will find out the gender of Baby Cameron in about 2 ½ weeks! Ryan and I are so excited and we look forward to sharing the big news with friends and family! After we know whether Baby Cameron is a boy or a girl, I plan to get started with the nursery right away! I can’t wait!
Lastly, Ryan and Molly are both doing well. Molly is definitely our 4 legged BABY and is as spoiled as ever. Ryan is working hard, but he has still been able to find some time for fishing.
